1. The first step is to go to the Maps-Layers tab and load the "Leicester Thematic Map" set, then you can click on the Thematic tab, otherwise you will be prompted by a message.
2. The first box requires you to pick a general subject e.g. Education and Employment. (Other subjects will be added over time and you can make requests as well.)
3. The second box then prompts you to select a variable of interest associated with that subject. 
4. If appropriate, adjust the number of intervals used to group the data using number list to the left.
5. Click on the Display Map to generate the map. A legend also appears.

The Area Aggregation Tools enable you to extract additional value from the system by creating a customised zone of your own choosing. Having done this the system will summarise the statistics for that zone. 

	Include zone in selection
	Exclude zone in selection
	Clear all zones from selection
	Calculate summary statistics
